Senior Strategist (brand) til AKQA
On behalf of AKQA Copenhagen, we are looking for an experienced and creative Senior Strategist to shape meaningful brand and communication strategies for some of the world’s most ambitious clients. As a Senior Strategist, you will lead multidisciplinary teams, uncover deep insights through research, and design strategic visions that drive business transformation.
About AKQA
At AKQA they believe in the imaginative application of art and science to create beautiful and performative ideas, products and services. With an entrepreneurial and collaborative approach, they craft powerful storytelling, design adaptive digital services and applications that capture the imagination, delivering meaningful returns for their clients.
As a strategist at AKQA, you work to shape an organisation's identity, positioning, communications, and growth trajectory. Actively seeking to bring consumer voice into the work, you help companies of all scales relate to their intended audience, differentiate from the category, and take the lead in the culture. You work collaboratively with the rest of the studio to grow brands creatively and effectively, through the lens of expression, experience, and business.
About the position
As a Senior Strategist at AKQA Copenhagen, you will be at the heart of defining future-facing strategies and offerings that blend creativity, brand thinking, and business insight. You will lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate closely with clients to transform complex brand and communication challenges into meaningful, human-centric solutions. This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction of some of the world’s most ambitious brands by combining analytical thinking with creative storytelling and strategic vision.
You’ll operate at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and culture – helping clients see opportunities they didn’t know existed and guiding them toward bold, market-defining brand experiences.
You will be central to growing AKQA’s strategic offering in Copenhagen, as well as driving thought leadership across global client engagements. You thrive in environments where ambiguity is the starting point, and you are energized by shaping sharp brand narratives, distinctive positioning, and long-term strategic platforms.
Your responsibilities include:
- Frame and lead mid-to-large-scale brand and communication strategy projects, from research to execution
- Design and conduct research using cultural analysis, semiotics, brand audits, and qualitative methods
- Translate insights into clear brand platforms, strategic narratives, and campaign directions
- Guide clients through complexity as a trusted advisor on brand positioning, architecture, and communication strategy
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality strategic and creative output
- Represent AKQA’s strategic and creative thinking to clients and stakeholders with clarity and inspiration
- Contribute to pitch development and help identify new business opportunities in collaboration with client teams
- Help shape and scale best practices within AKQA’s global strategy and brand community
- Support a positive, inclusive team environment that prioritizes wellbeing, creativity, and continuous learning
This role demands both independent drive and strong collaborative skills, as well as a passion for embedding creativity into strategic problem-solving. You will play a key role in AKQA’s ambition to redefine what design and strategy can achieve together.
Your profile
You are a sharp and conceptually strong thinker with the ability to translate complex brand challenges into clear strategic frameworks, narratives, and ideas. With a background in brand strategy, communications, or creative consultancy, you’re fluent in the language of brands and know how to build identities that connect business goals with cultural relevance. You combine analytical clarity with strong creative instinct, and you’re passionate about shaping brand experiences that move people and markets.
You bring experience with qualitative methods such as cultural insight, expert interviews, or brand research – and you know how to turn insight into actionable strategy. Experience with campaign strategy, naming, messaging frameworks, or creative brief development is a clear advantage. While quantitative tools like market analysis or segmentation can support your work, your true strength lies in shaping meaning, narrative, and brand direction.
You thrive in cross-functional teams and are a natural collaborator. Your approach to leadership is inclusive and idea-driven – you build trust, create momentum, and set a clear strategic direction. Your academic background might be in branding, communications, social sciences, or business – but what defines you most is your curiosity, your creative thinking, and your commitment to pushing brands forward.
