Marketing and Communications Manager

On behalf of European Sperm Bank, we are looking for a commercially-minded and purpose-driven Marketing and Communications Manager to lead and evolve the organisation’s communication and marketing efforts towards donor audiences. This role will be pivotal in shaping how potential and existing donors experience and engage with European Sperm Bank — from first awareness through long-term retention. You will take ownership of crafting impactful narratives, optimising donor journeys, and ensuring a consistent, brand-aligned voice across all touchpoints.

About European Sperm Bank

European Sperm Bank is one of the world’s leading sperm banks, founded in 2004, with a mission to help people everywhere build the families they dream of. With a strong foundation in quality, care and high ethical standards, they guide their clients through one of life’s most significant and personal decisions and stand with donors and families all the way.

With offices in Copenhagen, Lyngby, Aarhus, Aalborg, Hamburg and Amsterdam, European Sperm Bank is the only sperm bank recruiting donors across Europe – securing a high and diverse number of donors screened after the highest medical standards.

The Position

As Marketing and Communications Manager (Donors), you will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing the donor marketing and communication strategy. You will own the organic donor communication journey and ensure it works seamlessly alongside paid campaigns and broader growth initiatives.

This is a central and cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with the Growth & Marketing team, internal content producers, and donor-facing departments. You will manage and mentor two student assistants and be responsible for elevating the overall donor experience, ensuring all communications are impactful, timely, and compliant.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and executing strategic initiatives — including events, webinars, and campaigns — tailored to drive engagement and retention.
  • Ensuring consistent alignment of organic communication with paid media efforts in collaboration with the Growth & Marketing team.
  • Driving cross-functional projects to continuously improve the donor journey and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Collaborating with internal content creators to brief, review, and refine multi-channel communication touchpoints (email flows, SMS, website, etc.).
  • Supporting and quality-assuring the work of two student assistants, particularly related to donor profile content and data management.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of donor communication efforts and staying ahead of competitor activity and identifying new opportunities.
  • Ensuring all messaging complies with brand tone, quality standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Supporting broader corporate communication initiatives, contributing to synergies across teams and markets.

Your Profile

You hold a degree in Communication, Marketing, or a related field — ideally at master’s level — and are energized by work with real impact. With solid experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement, you bring a proven ability to develop and execute strategic, relationship-driven campaigns and build trust among targeted audiences.

You are performance-driven, motivated by achieving measurable results in recruiting and retaining donors. Comfortable working across multiple channels — from digital platforms to in-person activations — you know how to leverage both physical and digital touchpoints to maximise engagement and impact.

An accomplished project manager, you are comfortable balancing multiple stakeholders and initiatives, always delivering with precision. Your strong editorial sense ensures communication is accurate, brand-consistent, and compelling. Fluent in English and an exceptional communicator, you take pride in producing content that informs, engages, and inspires.
