Since then, the company has gained tremendous traction and market share, serving over 100 investment funds in Scandinavia and positioning itself for rapid expansion across Europe.

The position
As a Legal Specialist at Embankment, you will play a key role in supporting Embankment’s clients with investment agreements, fund closings, and regulatory compliance. You will act as a trusted advisor, helping structure and finalize agreements while ensuring alignment with AIFM directives and financial regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of law, finance and technology, contributing to the evolution of their legal services and digital solutions.

You will be the primary point of contact for commercial agreements, assisting clients through various stages of the process. You will help structure and finalize agreements, including partnership agreements, and ensure their successful execution. Your responsibilities will also include onboarding clients, managing the closing process, maintaining ownership records, and overseeing the fund’s legal documentation. Additionally, you will handle ongoing legal work and ensure all contractual obligations are met in alignment with relevant regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and finalizing investment agreements for clients
  • Managing fund closings and ensuring compliance with legal requirements
  • Advising clients on fund structures, investment agreements, and regulatory matters
  • Collaborating with internal teams, particularly onboarding and compliance, to streamline legal processes
  • Providing legal guidance to the tech team on digitalization and productization of legal services

You will be working at Embankment’s headquarters in the heart of Copenhagen. In the position, you will report to Martin Raun, Founder and Group General Counsel at Embankment.

Your profile
We are looking for a candidate with a legal background such as cand.jur., cand.merc.jur., or equivalent, as well as approximately 2-4 years of experience in a law firm or a larger financial institution. Experience with financial regulation, investment structures, and contract law—particularly in relation to AIFM directives—is essential.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience drafting and negotiating investment agreements, overseeing fund closings, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You should have a strong understanding of corporate and transactional law, including M&A, fund structuring, and commercial agreements. The ability to translate complex legal frameworks into practical, business-oriented solutions will be a key asset.

A proactive and detail-oriented mindset, along with strong communication skills, will set you up for success in this role. You will collaborate with both clients and internal teams, including onboarding, compliance, and tech, to streamline legal processes and support product innovation. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge services, we encourage you to apply.
