The position
As the first Senior Fund Operations Specialist in Oslo, you will be at the forefront of Embankment’s entry into the Norwegian market, driving their expansion and presence in the region. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality deliverances, fund administration, and accounting services tailored to Norwegian clients, ensuring precise bookkeeping, financial reporting, and comprehensive fund management. This role requires authorization as a certified accountant ("autorisasjon som regnskapsfører") to ensure compliance with Norwegian regulatory standards.

You will collaborate closely with the Copenhagen office to adapt processes and ways of working for the Norwegian market while aligning with local requirements. In addition to taking ownership of client onboarding and maintaining strong client relationships, you will have daily managerial responsibility for overseeing the development of the Norwegian team, ensuring its growth and operational success.

In this dynamic scale-up environment, you will manage a growing client portfolio and contribute to the development of the team, ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness as it grows, expected to expand to three employees by mid-2025. Your role will involve handling a range of ad hoc responsibilities as Embankment continues to evolve and refine their services in the Norwegian market.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Admin (accounting, drawdowns, distributions, reporting) on client funds
  • Accounting on clients’ management companies
  • Day-to-day client contact
  • Coordination witht the Copenhagen office (e.g. in relation to reporting to authorities)

  • Take on ad hoc tasks to enhance efficiency and ensure seamless operations

Your place of work will be located in Oslo, Norway. You will report to the COO.

Your profile
We are seeking a candidate with a strong academic background in accounting, audit, or a related field. You have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or consultancy, including in VAT, payroll, and tax. This role requires authorization as a certified accountant ("autorisasjon som regnskapsfører") to ensure compliance with Norwegian regulatory standards. While prior experience in fund administration is beneficial, it is not a requirement – what matters most is a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and the ability to manage operational entities.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with drive who can balance independent work with teamwork. You should be comfortable leading client dialogues, have a knack for adapting processes to new markets, and possess a strong analytical mindset. Being tech-savvy and innovative is crucial – and a passion for making a tangible impact and for contributing to a high-growth scale-up environment is key.

Joining Embankment offers a unique opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge company, recently backed by a fresh round of capital, with ambitious plans to continue expanding in the European region.
